Away in a manger ...
- 2018/01/02 -
"Away in a manger, no crib for a bed, the little Lord Jesus laid down His sweet head." The first lines of this Christmas Carl from the 19th century, remind call to our minds the miracle of Christmas, that Jesus Christ was born in Betlehem, God became a small child, vulnerable, poor, one of us.

In the weeks of Advent time and Christmas the Chapel Regina Angelorum of St. Charles keeps something very special for all of us: A manger with nearly 50 figures, animals, angels, the Holy family of course since Christmas, but also other companions on their way to Betlehem. The manger is lovingly prepared by Sr. M. Feliciana and attentively watchers can see little changes day by day.

We invite YOU to have a look in the manger of St. Charles, see the Holy Family with the Child in the crib. But pay also attention to many other visitors on their way to Bethlehem - may you hear them telling you their story ...
Away in a manger, no crib for a bed,
The little Lord Jesus laid down His sweet head.
The stars in the bright sky looked down where He lay,
The little Lord Jesus, asleep on the hay.
The cattle are lowing, the Baby awakes,
But little Lord Jesus, no crying He makes;
I love Thee, Lord Jesus, look down from the sky
And stay by my side until morning is nigh.
Be near me, Lord Jesus, I ask Thee to stay
Close by me forever, and love me, I pray;
Bless all the dear children in Thy tender care,
And fit us for Heaven to live with Thee there.

Thanks to Br. Simon Petrus Mahall OSB for his photos of our manger.
