God Crowns the Year with His Blessing
- 2026/01/18 -
Many will look back on 2025 with dismay in light of a number of world events and they will face the coming months with a certain skepticism. However, many will also strive to master all that awaits them with healthy confidence, convinced that "the Lord crowns the year with his blessing," echoing Psalm 65.

Firmly sustained by this promise, we, the Sisters of St. Charles, thanked God at the turn of the year for all the good things that have happened to us. At the same time, we are now delighted with a positive start to January in many respects and look forward with confidence to all the challenges that lie ahead.

At the end of the year, we were honored to welcome the Chairman of the German Bishops' Conference, Bishop Dr. Georg Bätzing, and his small delegation. On Epiphany 2026, the consecration of our house was performed by the three Magi, and our visit to our two fellow sisters in Emmaus was a highlight for us, as we were able to celebrate the 97th birthday of our dear Sister Klara there. Mentally in excellent shape and in good physical health, she can look back with gratitude on a long and blessed ministry in the Lord's vineyard.

On January 17, our spiritual director, Father Jonas OSB, accompanied us on our journey to the Shepherds' Fields near Bethlehem. In the Shepherds' Grotto, at the very place where the angels proclaimed peace, we celebrated the Holy Mass of Christmas Morning to conclude the Christmas season, during which we brought all our intentions before our Heavenly Father and gratefully remembered all those united with us in friendship and love.
